His name is Inigo Chiquirrin, aka, Txiki (Pronounced Cheeky) and he is The Everyday Dude.

Txiki is a Melbourne based artist specialising in hand painted signage, gilding, decorative glass art, pin striping, custom painted helmets, airbrushing realistic portraits and murals.

His first job was in a greasy workshop in Spain fixing motorbikes. He soon went from repairing bikes to painting them instead.

He moved to Australia and became interested in old school lettering and gold leaf signage. The more faded and forgotten the better. The simple finesse of the local butcher shop’s hand painted ‘specials’ became a marvel and a benchmark for him to follow. He has since become well known in the local kustom kulture scene and has spent the last 25 years developing his technique and experience. Txiki started his own company the Everyday Dude in 2007.

Txiki is proudly self-taught and puts everything down to practice.

“It’s taken years of making mistakes and doing things over and over to get a handle on all of the crazy techniques & details that are involved. I am always painting & experimenting on just about anything I can get my hands on. I really like working with my hands. Finding, painting and restoring unwanted junk makes me happy.

For me it’s about getting away from big business and keeping it local. Handcrafted is where it’s at for me. It’s slow and it costs more – whatever! Painting is a craft, it's heartfelt and a process. It's not just something copied and slapped together on a computer.

A hand painted mural or a gold leaf sign looks brighter and stands out. It says a lot about the business. It’s like an unspoken message that tells you that the owner really cares about the place."

The Everyday Dude offers a flexible range of services from private commissions to larger commercial projects. Activations and art direction across Australia and overseas.
